We live a life of prayer, work and reading accordng to the Rule of St. Benedict and try to serve the Catholic Church and the people of southern Idaho through various ministries which include parochial work, retreats, teaching and scholarship, ecumenical activities, counseling and spiritual direction, and social service.

Br. José was born in the Basque country of Spain in 1946. He emigrated to southern Idaho to work in a sheep ranch. He joined the monastery in 1990. Two days a week he volunteers at St. Jerome's in Jerome, ID, where he uses his command of Spanish to assist Hispanics with immigration and tax matters. Br. José is a man of many talents: he is a creative cook and a tailor, and he performs many tasks in the sacristy. He recently began using the internet to keep in touch with his native Basque country family and language. Like others in the monastery, he has been involved in the very active southern Idaho Cursillo movement.
