1. The ordinary non-credit course offered by The Benedictine Consortium for Distance
Learning involves two semester hours of work. Non-credit students work at their own
level, but the courses are designed to be on a par with upper division undergraduate
courses.
3. Registration. Students who wish to take the course write to the coordinator for a registration form or they may simply send the following information to the coordinator: Name, Monastery (if any), phone, fax, email, status (oblate, postulant, novice, temporarily professed, finally professed, other), current address, high school graduation (school, city, year), post-secondary education (name of school, years, degree if any), course in which applicant wishes to enroll, credit or non-credit, number of weeks you estimate it will take to complete the course, payment. Students wishing credit from the University of Mary should also indicate: race, handicapped (Y/N), birth date, social security number. 4. Concluding a course. When a student finishes a course, the student sends the instructor an evaluation and the coordinator sends the instructor the salary and the student a certificate. The faculty member may send the evaluation to the coordinator for the files. If the course is taken for credit, the coordinator sends the required forms and payment to the University of Mary which then sends a grade sheet to the instructor, who returns it to the University, which then issues a grade at the end of the next grading period. |
