Cost for non-credit courses:
$75 per semester credit hour, $150 for regular course, of which $125. to teacher, and $25. to administration. Cost for credit course: $150 per semester credit hour, $300 for the regular courses of which $145 goes to teacher, $120 to the University of Mary and $35 to administration. Group discounts: If more than one person in a community are taking a course, there is an automatic 10% discount. If one person is taking the course and then mediating the results of her/his study to others in the community without involving the Distance Learning faculty, only the person actually taking the course will be charged. However, we do ask than anyone using one of our syllabi in this way to donate $10.00 to A.I.M. to aid in monastic education in Africa, Latin America and the Far East..
In theory most of the faculty are ready to teach students in the Third World for no charge. However, the costs and logistics of such an effort seem daunting. As a alternative, teachers located in those areas might teach others using our syllabi (with or without having taken the courses with us). We are ready to make our syllabi available at no charge for use in Africa, Latin American and the Far East. Again, there are logistical problems because most of our syllabi presuppose a variety of sources. Where feasible and necessary, we have prepared simplified reading lists. Refunds: For any course begun, but not completed, students may request a refund. For any course begun, $25.00 goes to administration, the rest is pro-rated according to the number of lessons submitted to the teacher. |
